На пам'ять і честь Торрі

Його ім'я зазначено в назві невеликого роду Торрея (TorreyaArn.) сімейства Тисові (Taxaceae), виявленого в Північній Америці, Китаї та Японії. У південній Каліфорнії росте Сосна Торрі, або Сосна Торрея (Pinus torreyanaParry ex Carri?re).

Пік Торрі на плато Колорадо також носить ім'я ботаніка.
