Едмунд Берк Рочфордом: біографія

У 1982 році захистив докторську дисертацію з соціології у Каліфорнійському університеті в Лос-Анджелесі. Тема дисертації: «A study of recruitment and transformation processes in the Hare Krishna movement». З тих пір, Рочфордом присвятив себе вивченню крішнаїзму в США і написав декількох десятків статей і дві монографії на цю тему: «Hare Krishna in America» (опублікована в 1985 році видавництвом Рутгерського університету) та «Hare Krishna Transformed» (опублікована в 2007 році видавництвом Нью-Йоркського університету). «Hare Krishna Transformed» присвячена темі розвитку родини в ІСККОН і змін, які відбувалися в крішнаїтський громадах в США в 1990-ті - 2000-і роки.

Девід Бромлі назвав Рочфордом «найвидатнішим вченим, які займаються вивченням крішнаїзму в Америці », а монографію Рочфордом« Hare Krishna Transformed »-« найбільш глибокої та пізнавальної книгою про організаційному розвитку Руху свідомості Крішни ».
