Маурісіо Кагель: біографія

Біографія

Народився в єврейській родині, по материнській лінії походив з білоруських євреїв. Вивчав в Буенос-Айреса університеті літературу та філософію, не був прийнятий в консерваторію, але приватно займався під керівництвом Альберто Хінастера. Починаючи з 1950 р. виступав як кінокритик, в 1955-1957 рр.. працював репетитором з хором Камерної опери Театру Колон.

З 1957 р. жив і працював у Кельні. У 1960-1976 рр.. (З невеликою перервою) викладав у Літній школі нової музики в Дармштадті, в 1974-1997 рр.. професор музичного театру в Кельнської консерваторії. У різний час викладав також у Буффало, Гетеборзі, Берліні.

Творчість

Найбільшу популярність принесли Кагеля твори, в яких поряд з власне музичної складової присутній елемент перформансу, що вторгається в музичну тканину і трансформуючий її.
